The "Good and Bad...Thank you for this article. The "Good and Bad hair" dance from School Daze has been on my mind lately. I did not understand it 20 years ago, but I understand it loud and clear now. Skin color and hair texture do not have a formula. I have seen fairskinned women with extremely kinky "jiggaboo" hair. I have seen dark skinned women with looser textured hair. So Spike Lee was accurate in his assessment that skin tone does not dictate "good and bad hair." All hair is good of course, some hair is more manageable and therefore more socially acceptable. The skin bleaching in Indian was a nice complement to the whole discussion. Beautiful article.
